Dawn Roberts has written a brilliant book about the real cause of disease and obesity. After suffering with 100 symptoms of disease she decided to change her lifestyle. Her wake-up call only came after her body became a toxic waste dump. Once she changed her eating habits and took responsibility for her health, she got better fast. In "Warnings of Disease" she explains how MSG and other poisons are being put into our food and why it is so difficult to get them out of our diet. The problem is that MSG is listed under a number of different names that seem harmless.

What is the real cause of type 2-diabetes?
Can insomnia really be caused by excitotoxins?
What is the real cause of ADHD?

The answers will surprise you.

Eye-opening, informative, well-written and a must read!

When you're looking for answers you want to get them from somebody who has been there, done that. Dawn Roberts has done her homework, clearly out of desperation to find her own answers when the medical profession failed her, and it is obvious that she has put her heart and soul into this book. I found it impossible to put down. Finally, one book that tells you what your doctor can't, or won't. You are looking for answers and motivation to get healthy, and this book will do that for you. This is the most well-written self help book I have ever read. It is the perfect blend of terminology and explanation paired with the authors heart-felt, sincere and concise journey to her own healing. I highly recommend it!

Staying Healthy

Dawn Roberts has written an important book for us. I think everyone knows we have problems in our foods or at least suspects we do and Dawn brings those problems out clearly. She tells the truth and that truth has consequences for us all. This could be the book that begins to stop the direction our culture has taken in our eating and food preparation and also in our tendency to allow chemicals of all sorts to damage us the way those chemicals do.

Great way to review for the NYSTCE Visual Atst CST!

I recently passed the NYSTCE Visual Arts CST with only these flash cards as a review tool. I felt prepared, and I found the flashcards to be a really useful tool to remind myself about different artists, materials, and procedures that would be on the test.

PROS:
* You can review for the CST easily and efficiently with these cards. They are portable and easy to carry around in a rubber band.
* The information is more challenging than what you will find on the actual test, so when taking the test you will feel very prepared.
* Cards are organized with a heading, such as "Visual Arts Materials and Processes," "Aesthetic and Interdisciplinary Connections," etc. (The different areas on the test.)

CONS:
* The flashcards come in sheets and you have to punch them out yourself.
* The flashcards have small type and very dense, concentrated information on them.
* The information on the cards looks a little scary because it is so in-depth. Just keep this in mind as you use the cards as a review tool.
* Don't expect flashy or pretty cards with colors or images. These are just text-based cards. (Kind of a bummer for a test about VISUAL ART!)

Overall, this is a great way to review for the Visual Arts CST. A classmate of mine got the cards and the study book by the same company and found having the two materials to be redundant. I recommend getting one or the other (whether you prefer a book style or a flash card style approach).

Flash cards for certification test worked great

Teacher certification is very important and I wanted to get mine in visual arts. I learned a lot in my own classes and when I was looking forward to the test, I knew I would have to spit a lot of that information back out in the test. How I would remember it all, however, I was unsure. I found these flash cards and was so relieved that they had all of the information on them I needed to know. They were made for teachers who wanted to get certified in visual arts! Since that's me, I grabbed the cards right away and got to work. Better yet, they didn't cost much! But I would have paid a lot more for what they gave me. I really feel like they helped me not only pass the test, but have less nerves leading up to it. When I took the test, I was calm and collected because I knew I studied the right information hard with the help of the flash cards. The cards worked great and I think they are a wonderful addition to any study collection for other teachers who want to get certified in visual arts.

I loved this book. I took astronomy in high school, it ended up being A LOT of math. I learned how to use ALL the button on my scientific calculator. Which is was so boring. Some days the teacher would pop in a video of Carl Sagan and we loved it. He made the cosmos beautiful! This book reminds me of those videos. I loved the imagination and wonder Wendy has added to her book.
I also love that she has finally written a book addresses her love and curiosity of universe. We saw a little smattering in Jeremy Fink, then some more in Every Soul a Star. In this book she finally takes us off planet Earth.
I am a fifth grade teacher and would love to use this book as a read aloud during our space unit. Add some imagination into the boring numbers of how far everything is away from Earth!

A Slightly Science-y, Space-Set School Story

I love Wendy Mass' slightly quirky, humorous, heartfelt novels. When I started this novel, which focuses on Joss, the 7th son of the Supreme Overlord of the universe, I wondered if it was going to hit that note which I love so much.

Right off, we do see Joss' room for growth, as he feels unimportant in his family role, being the youngest, but seemingly entrusted with less than his brothers who help his father run the universe. All Joss does is deliver pies! When a girl with a telescope spies their planet, The Realms, this goes against the laws of nature, and so Earth is destroyed. It actually isn't destroyed, but it's as though it never existed. That means that Joss' best friend Kai is also destroyed, because his parents were on assignment there, and if they never existed, neither could he.

But Annika, the girl with the telescope, somehow gets sucked into a wormhole and ends up on The Realms. It is through her that we learn more about this planet and Joss' and his brothers' roles. Because she's a clueless earthling (as are we, the readers), the sci-fi aspect isn't too heavy. We get to see things on her level, and understanding comes little by little.

Suddenly, Joss isn't the least important brother, when he is tasked with the job of re-creating Earth. Annika is obviously the expert, so they have to work closely together, even though they can't decide whether to like each other or just be annoyed by the other's presence!

Each chapter starts off with an interesting quote from a scientist, which ties into the story, but will also quite possibly feed a youngster's love of space or science.

My 9-year-old son really liked this novel, and I was thinking it was okay, though not a favorite, until I got to the last 1/4. The ending was fantastic and elevated the whole story for me.

I absolutely love this book! I just bought extra copies for my daughter and am also sending one to a friend at camp. Wendy Mass' books are always a learning experience, a fun wild ride in a new world and a great read. I read all the books I let my daughter read, and I'm always thrilled when I get to read a new book of Ms. Mass. Keep them coming!!!!

Devapriya Roy has degrees in English literature and performance studies from Presidency College, Calcutta, and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, where she is pursuing a PhD on the Natyashastra (at least, that is what she says when asked what she does). this book is a mistake

This book is a warmed over, self-published dissertation from The Institute for Transpersonal Psychology. The reviews and descriptions are misleading. (Georg Feuerstein should be ashamed of himself.) There is little useful information here--just retelling from some primary but mostly secondary sources. The book is superficial; there is little spiritual or psychological depth. How can anyone who writes seriously about Kundalini write this: "Sexual and materialistic excesses such as those of Bhagvan Rajneesh, who taught tantric practices in both India and the U.S., have further damaged the reputation of this ancient art, which is greatly misunderstood in the West." That's all she has to say about the Bhagvan, an incredibly influential and controversial teacher. Even if you disagree with his thought or practice how is it possible to write about Kundalini in the West and not reference his prolific contributions? If there is any virtue here it is that if you read at night the pedantic style will invite Morpheus almost instantaneously. Don't waste your money. There are many far better books available.

Read for a class, did not enjoy as much as I thought I would.

Information is just scattered everywhere. The history of Africa is complex and beautiful; it is a daunting task to attempt to put so much information in 1 book. I feel perhaps instead of making different sections in the book, Isichei may have been better off making multiple books detailing the history of Africa and its regions.

Great read!

Informative and full of multiple perspectives on Mother Africa. She really knows the subject well. It is one of those books u can keep in the library for your kids and grand kids to read.
