The investigation is based upon eighteen months of archival research in the Library of Congress’s extensive Jascha Heifetz Collection. Born in England, Dario Sarlo is a musicologist, violinist, author, and contributor to The Strad. He earned degrees from King's College London and Goldsmiths, and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Library of Congress, Washington DC, where he examined the Heifetz Collection. He lives in the United States.

If you want to learn much more about Jascha Heifetz please order this wonderful book by Dario Sarlo. He is the same author who gave us
"Jascha Heifetz: Early Years in Russia". He edited and translated that book and it is really our first look into the early years of Mr. Heifetz before he came to the US for his incredible debut in Carnegie Hall in 1917. This new book is worth the price alone for all the information given in the Appendix
listing during the years 1917-1974 each of the 124 conductors that he performed with number of events; 24 pianists and number of events:
57 countries that he performed in during these years. Now starting on page 59 Dr. Sarlo in Table 3.1 give Heifetz career breakdown by performance type - Recital,orchestral,recordings ,radio and chamber. Then in Table 3.2 he gives the year by year analysis of each type of event. Now I have not even mentioned his study into the performance style with a heavy emphasis on the works of J.S. Bach. Really looking forward to more books about Jascha Heifetz and the rest of his career.
